TCRC completed a complete roof overhaul at CLIC House which is a Grade 2 listed building in Cotham, Bristol. It had in the past had the covering renewed with unsuitable heavy concrete tiles and was approaching end of life. Works included the removal and disposal of the old roof covering, repairs to parapet walls and chimneys followed by re-rendering. Repairs and were then completed to the traditional cut roof structure, after which a new lead-lined valley gutter was installed and remaining leadwork replaced. A brand new Welsh Slate covering was laid, with new heritage style roof light and new aluminium rainwater goods throughout. Client, Designers and Main Contractor all delighted with the outcome.”
Needless to say we’re very happy with the end result at CLIC House and the workmanship that’s gone into this. I often share pictures looking up the partially completed ridge to see a rather pleasing line of the slate edges – real craft. Also special mention must go out to working on that roof in the extreme heat that we experienced last summer!
It ought to be noted that the main contractor, The Complete Roofing Co., and stonemason, Simon, have gone above & beyond over recent weeks to address visible defects and deliver best value for our academy. Both the descaling and mortar repairs have been extended significantly beyond the scope of the CIF bid, so as to futureproof and improve consistency across the external envelope.
