At this time of year, we are proud to reflect on the El Alamein War Memorial project in Egypt that was completed by the TCRC team back in 2020. Unveiled in 1954 by Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, the El Alamein cemetery contains more than 7,200 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, of which more than 800 are unidentified.

On this exceptional project TCRC were selected to install a range of roofing and waterproofing products, working closely with the client and manufacturers to create a sympathetic design solution that would be suitable for this listed architectural building in such a unique location. The specification consisted of an inverted roof build-up, incorporating specially selected products and accessories which were colour matched to the rest of the structure and also rated to withstand the harsh desert temperatures.

Overall, it was a fantastic team effort and an honour to be involved in such a sensitive and worthwhile project.
