At this time of year, we are proud to reflect on the El Alamein War Memorial project in Egypt that was completed by the TCRC team back in 2020. Unveiled in 1954 by Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, the El Alamein cemetery contains more than 7,200 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, of which more than 800 are unidentified. On this exceptional project TCRC were selected to install a range of roofing and waterproofing products, [...]

RUH Hospital Bath

2021-11-12T14:57:35+00:00October 10th, 2021|0 Comments

When a number of key buildings on Bath’s Grade II listed RUH Hospital needed an essential waterproofing upgrade, TCRC were appointed to install a high performance solution. The works primarily involved overlaying the existing asphalt roof and, for logistical and practical reasons, a two-layer bituminous roofing system from BMI Icopal was chosen as the most convenient and effective solution. Initially 130mm of PIR insulation was glued to the asphalt substrate to provide enhanced thermal properties. [...]

Our project of the month for August is the stunning Clifftops Lodges in Portland, Dorset. On this logistically challenging project, TCRC provided a complete waterproofing system including green roof finishes. The high-level roof featured a large entertainment terrace and here an inverted roof construction was specified incorporating Radmat Building Products Ltd’s PermaQuik hot melt waterproofing system. Attention to detail was essential as several glass balustrade posts also needed to be carefully waterproofed. On the low-level [...]

Our feature project for July is Henbury Court Primary, an academy school based in Henbury near Bristol. Fire-Safe Roofing Systems

No matter what project we are involved with, safety on site is always a top priority for TCRC. For example, on flat roof projects where our operatives are using gas torches to install built-up felt roofing systems, we minimise risk by adhering to the principals of the NFRC’s Safe2Torch campaign. This includes identifying any potential fire risks at the survey stage and designing in torch-free waterproofing solutions as and where required. For assistance with [...]
